I understand you may want to get conversation going by posting "points of history". But please DON'T! You're cheapening the purpose of this space by posting generic history facts. If you want to discuss history and education, post something RELEVANT to that topic.

This is I hope a simple question to all those who do any kind of school talk or visit.  Do you every ask yourself the question is how I’m doing this is it working and are the kids getting anything out of it.

I myself did ask that very question and I came up with a questionnaire for the teachers, to find out if things were either too long or short and if there could suggest any improvements i was wondering on your thoughts?

Just to let everyone know to remember 30th May 1942 is the first ever time the allies were able to put over Germany 1000 bombers on an air raid.

For a moment think of what it must have looked and sounded like seeing 1000 planes the same size and bigger that the Goonie bird that flyers around Melbourne. Below are two links if anyone wants to read more.

On the 31st May 1942 the Japanese launched a surprise attack on Sydney Harbour with three midget submarines. Their objective was to sink the Americans Naval ships berthed in the harbour.

This attack showed once again like the bombing of Darwin, that Australia was fairly and squarely in a war like they had never fought before.  This war had come to them.

The Americans needed the Ports along the coast from Darwin down to Melbourne. If they couldn't bring ships in with troops and/or supplies they would never be able to retake the Pacific Islands back from the Japanese and in turn this would have caused them to have lost  the Pacific and Australia would have been cut off from the rest if the world. This would have been very bad for us.

Hi all sorry for having no active over the last few months now that I work as a causally I have to take work when I can get it and lucky for me lately, I have been getting a lot.  Now enough of excuses I wanted this to be a group for anything Educational so I’m going to start putting up points in history.  Please feel free to put up any days of historical interest.

The early hours of the morning of 31st May 1916. The believed inevitable and from a lot of people's view point the hoped naval battle of the great British fleet and the Imperial German fleet was only minutes away from beginning.

The sight of these hundred or more city sized war ships steaming at full speed towards what would be the greatest fleet battle of the twentieth century would have been a sight to have seen, but this sight had a ominous overture. Each ship carried over two thousand souls and not all of these souls would return.

Let me know if this is the kind of thing you are asking about.  It seems to me that your are asking about a type of visual aid or something.  If that is the case I would recommend a diagram showing how the flint lock musket works, ar that explains the progression of the military uniforms of the corisponding era.  When I have a presentation that I'm doing, I bring a cross section of my armor (and some borrowed from other troop members) to show the different types and forms.  That could work with any nunber of subjects.  Assuming the British soldier in your avatar is you, you could make a poster that shows the different uniforms used by the English in the AmRev.

well, the project is for my design and tech class, i can make a poster etc, it can be reenacting in general but preferred 18/19th due to my skills and knowledge of that era, something that will either help with reenacting, or an improvement on something

Hi Zac,

Does it have to be written or oral, and when you say would make 18/19 century easier, so do you mean the project has to be on the 18/19 century or on reenacting?
