I am a member of one of the Duke of Wellington's famous regiments; the 9th East Norfolk Regiment of Foot (the regiment fought Napoleon through the Peninsular War in Spain 1808 -1814)
I also play an English gentleman (of the same period) and recently recreated the famous meeting with Shaka; King of the Zulus (who came to power in 1812) The photo refers to this famous meeting in Zululand (South Africa)

I hope to take you up on your offer some time in the future. As the 68th are North East based I think it less likely you will be able to entertain the men, however my job occasionaly takes me up town. The next time I'm heading that way for more than a days meeting, I'll drop you a line. Similarily, if you ever find yourself over my way tehre is always a bolster and a glass of claret available.
The photo's you have posted are outstanding, it's impressive and fascinating to see the Africans into their heritage, I assume they are a living history group or are they models in "costume"? Either way, they are still brilliant photo's!
